Windermere

This Littleton farmhouse, built in 1982, originally showcased antique-style details such as clawfoot tubs, glass doorknobs, and wide wood plank flooring.

Ascent Contracting was honored to renovate the kitchen, main-level flooring, fireplace, and staircase to create a modern, open, and functional home while honoring its farmhouse charm.

The kitchen had low ceiling soffits, dated 1980s cabinetry, and a limited footprint. Ascent removed a wall to expand the space for an 11’ kitchen island and installed new cabinetry reaching the ceiling after removing the soffits. Inspired by the family’s summers working on an English sheep farm, the homeowners brought back hand-painted ceramic cabinet knobs for the coffee bar. A standout feature is the custom solid walnut range hood, designed and fabricated by Ascent principal Justin with mitered edges and board-and-batten trim.

The project also included a refaced fireplace with limestone surround and hearth, engineered acacia hardwood floors throughout the main level, and a rebuilt front stairwell designed to emphasize the open flow between the kitchen, living, and dining areas. This Littleton farmhouse remodel blends timeless character with modern functionality, creating a beautiful space for family living and entertaining.
