26th Avenue

This Central Park family came to Ascent with a main floor that had never quite worked for their everyday lives. Walls between the kitchen, living, and dining spaces left the home feeling disconnected and out of sync with the way a young, active family lives.

Ascent designed a complete main floor reconfiguration, relocating the kitchen to the rear of the home to open up sight lines and create a natural flow throughout the space. A walk-in pantry, mudroom, and thoughtfully designed cabinetry. Including specialty organizational inserts and an appliance garage that brings a level of function that makes daily life easier. Every inch of the new layout was considered with both the morning routine and the dinner party in mind.

The bar is the undeniable anchor of the space. The walnut cabinetry is paired with a dark stone countertop, brass hardware, and a bold geometric black-and-gold tile backsplash that makes a bold statement. Open shelving with under-cabinet lighting displays bottles and cocktail books with intention, while botanical wallpaper tucked into the upper cabinet niche adds a layer of personality that feels collected rather than decorated. A curved peninsula with upholstered bar seating rounds out the space, making it an inviting landing place for anyone. Together, with the open living room, the result is a connected, welcoming main floor.
