SOUTH EMERSON:

This 1915 Victorian was originally 1500 SF and while it had a second level, the upstairs was considered a “half story” with very low and sloped ceilings.  Our team “popped the top” to create a full-height second story as well as added onto the back and side of the home to create an expansive main level, primary suite, larger kid and guest bedrooms, mudroom, wine cellar, and large back patio.

Of primary importance to this wonderful family of four was preserving the historical charm while updating the home to modern day standards.  To that end, the owners selected finishes that could’ve been original to the home in 1915 – items such as small-scale floor bathroom floor tile with borders, exposed shower heads, trim and molding which matches the home’s original, a bathroom vanity with furniture legs, wood wainscotting, and Victorian reproduction lighting, mirrors and door hardware.
