LAFAYETTE:

When Ascent’s team first set eyes on this 1915 mansion, the home had a very traditional, compartmentalized floor plan with multiple staircases stretching between the first and second floors and small rooms. The owners wanted a more expansive, open floor plan on the main level, including a larger kitchen. We undertook fairly extensive structural work to brace the second story and attic of this marvelous, old brick home to put in steel beams that support the new opening between the kitchen and dining room. We completed this project in partnership with interior designer Shari Cahill of Plase Design.

Since this renovation, the clients have hired us twice: to do a phase-two renovation of the sunroom and to remodel the basement. We believe this is a testament to our integrity and diligence, and we’re honored to continue our work on this century-old home.
